I'm thoroughly confused.

I don't think if Rob has indeed sold Ala (which it sounds like she has) that she's going to leave Ala forever. As I skimmed through her responses to questions that were asked, she said, "I am the programmer of the site and would be more than happy to stay on as such, if you'd prefer someone else I do have a helper who would program as well." So she's willing to stay on as a programmer, just not the owner.

And as it's been mentioned before, not all owner changes are bad. When Colin sold Houndism to Megan, she actually improved the site and more players joined. It was a huge success. So yeah. :P

Yeah, what Kaitie said.

I would just relax and see how things turn out. We don't even know who the new owner is, there is no need to flip out.
I'm sure it will all be explained by the admins or something one of these days.

I haven't noticed a change in Alacrity and how it is managed (great) so I don't think this is changing into FooPets.

Aint no need to flip out if there's nothing wrong.

Why do people always try and compare this to Foo? They are two different games by different owners. The game style is also a lot different o.0.

I doubt Ala would follow like them after seeing most of their customers come on to here.

Let's just hope this doesn't end up like Foopets :(

Seconding what Snoweh said :)

Honestly, I'm pretty excited for the owner change. I want to meet the new owner.

For the amount they payed for the site, I'm sure they are going to be very dedicated, and work as hard as they can on the site.
Overall, I don't think this transition will be as bad as some people say. ^^;

Owner change isn't necessarily bad. Everyone's acting like it's flat out terrible.

I'm sure Rob is sticking around and I've been through a dog game site owner change and the new owners actually updated the site more and worked on it.

Let's just see what happens before we make snap decisions on how we feel on it? ^^;

I just joined a week ago..Now this?

Bea, this will all be explained when the new owner is ready to make their introduction to Alacrity. Right now they're taking the time getting familiar with the site, site staff and players and how the site works. Just be patient and give them time to explore Alacrity on their own first.

Exactly who bought Ala? Did they already have an acount? Do they now have an account?

The person that bought Ala is being thoroughly introduced to Ala :)

It's unfortunate this came out this way. Last I heard the announcement of the finalization of all this was delayed 'til after valentines day because the admins didn't want to be accused of attempting to bury it in the valentines updates.... so now they'll be accused of announcing it only because of this thread..... Can't win sometimes.

Of course, there's always people who feel the need to be angry about things regardless of what they are

Because I'm sure more than half of the people here love Rob and would be confused as to why she sold the site. And a new site owner is a scary thing, mostly because it could be a person that has never been seen on the site and people aren't warmed up to that said person.

But I do see what you mean, Clay. If ownership has been handed over, then the site is doing great in that other person's hands. Ala is still the same great Ala.

It looks as if the deal was done back in September. If it all went down and ownership traded over, I don't see why any of y'all would be freaking out. I haven't seen a single change in the quality of Ala. Ala's always been a great site to me.
I will miss Rob if this is the case though

Rob has an ad posted Pro Sim Union. Rob has been wanting to sell Alacrity because the trying to maintain a site at this size, and at such a fast growing rate, is causing her a lot of stress and time. I believe the topic of Rob selling Alacrity was shunned because admins did not want the users to create lots of rumours and startle members with news that is not set.

Wait.. Rob might be leaving? I wouldn't be able to handle that.

Also, I'm afraid of the ownership change.

Weird. I wonder if this will affect game play at any point. (Like if it will go the way of Foo or Neopets.)
